Origin Story

Like many fellow New Yorkers, I left the East Village during COVID in search of a fresh start. I was ready to trade the cold, long winters for endless summers and sunshine. I packed up and headed south to Brickell — Miami’s financial district — expecting great weather.

What I found was so much more.

Yes, there are the picturesque views, palm trees swaying against blue skies, dolphins and manatees in the water, clean streets, and incredible restaurants and bars. But the biggest surprise wasn’t the scenery — it was the people.

 I may have left New York, but Miami became an extension of it. There’s a strong community of New Yorkers here, and with that comes the same energy, ambition, resilience, and pride. Brickell isn’t just a neighborhood — it’s a thriving, connected community filled with people building something new while honoring where they came from.

That pride inspired the creation of Boro 6.
